1. Introduction

As a Senior Product Designer, I was tasked with designing the FrontRead application, a tool that helps users improve their reading speed. This application is a combination of a reader app and specialized techniques to facilitate fast reading. In this case study, I will outline the challenges faced and the solutions implemented during the design process.

2. Challenge

The main challenge of this project was to create an intuitive and engaging user experience that would encourage users to practice fast reading techniques. It was crucial to strike a balance between providing a seamless reading experience and incorporating features that would help users track their progress.

3. Solution

To address the challenge, I followed a user-centered design approach and conducted extensive research on fast reading techniques. I worked closely with the development team to ensure the seamless integration of these techniques into the FrontRead application. The following are the key solutions implemented: - Reader App Integration: I collaborated with the development team to integrate the fast reading techniques seamlessly into the existing reader app. This allowed users to apply the techniques while reading their favorite books or articles. - Speed Control: I designed a speed control feature that allows users to adjust the reading speed according to their comfort level. This feature includes a range of speed options, from beginner to advanced levels. - Progress Tracking: To motivate users and track their progress, I implemented a progress tracking system. This included features such as reading speed statistics, reading time tracking, and achievement badges for reaching certain milestones. - Interactive Exercises: To enhance the learning experience, I incorporated interactive exercises within the app. These exercises focused on improving reading speed, comprehension, and retention. Users could practice these exercises at their own pace.

Summary

The design of the FrontRead application aimed to provide users with an effective tool for improving their reading speed. Through careful consideration of user needs and collaboration with the development team, we were able to create a user-friendly and engaging experience. The combination of the reader app and specialized techniques offers users a unique opportunity to enhance their reading skills.
