The air-fryer had a moment. Every kitchen got one. Great demos. Impressive results the first few times. Then it became a fancy bread box collecting dust next to the stove.

AI adoption in design is following the same curve. The tools with the best launch videos got installed. They got used twice. Now they sit in a browser tab that never opens.

I have been using AI in my design work for two years. The tools that stuck are not the ones with the most features. They are the ones that fit into a moment I already had. A question I was already asking. A file I was already looking at.

Look at your AI tools. Which ones did you actually open this week? Build your workflow around those. Delete the rest.
