2. Challenge

The challenge for Klarna's Creator Platform was to create a platform that would help brands find and collaborate with the right influencer partners. The platform needed to be easy to use and provide value to our clients, while also allowing them to track and optimize these relationships with insights into performance metrics. Additionally, the platform needed to address the common pain point of managing influencers, which can be time-consuming and difficult for brands to navigate. Overall, the challenge was to create a solution that would make influencer marketing more accessible and effective for our clients.

3. Solution

As a senior product designer for Klarna's Creator Platform, I had the opportunity to work on a project that aimed to help merchants find and collaborate with the right influencer partners. Our goal was to create a platform that not only made it easier for brands to work with influencers but also allowed them to track and optimize these relationships with insights into performance metrics. Using Figma, Jira, Slack, and Notion, I worked closely with the development team to design and implement the platform's features. We wanted to make sure that the platform was easy to use and provided value to our clients, so we conducted extensive user research and gathered feedback throughout the development process.

Summary

The results were impressive. Brands that used our platform saw a 3x sales uplift from influencers and an 80% reduction in time spent managing influencers. They also benefited from one of the fastest-growing customer acquisition channels and an 8x ROI driven by influencer marketing. Additionally, 49% of consumers depended on influencer recommendations for purchase decisions, and there was $14B in influencer channel investment in 2021 (up from $3B in 2017). Overall, the Klarna Creator Platform was a success. It allowed our clients to leverage the power of influencer marketing and connect with consumers in new and exciting ways. As a product designer, I'm proud to have been a part of this project and look forward to continuing to innovate and create value for our clients.
